Dr. Lubing received her Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology, with a specialty in children and adolescents, from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology in Chicago, IL. She is a Licensed Psychologist in the State of Maryland, who specializes in individual, family and group psychotherapy. Dr. Lubing completed her doctoral internship at Youth Consultation Services, Helen May Strauss Clinic in East Orange, NJ. She has received advanced training in individual and family therapy with children and adolescents, dyadic (parent-child) therapy with mothers and their infants/toddlers, and group therapy for preschoolers and adults as well as providing comprehensive psychological assessments.
In her clinical work, Dr. Lubing specializes in the treatment of children, adolescents, and adults with ADHD, depression, anxiety, oppositional behaviors, trauma, family difficulties, and academic/school related problems. Dr. Lubing utilizes an integrative approach to treatment, including psychodynamic, cognitive-behavioral, and systemic interventions through play and talk therapy. As a clinician, it is important for her to utilize the strengths of each client to help him or her to reach their full potential. She aims to explore the distress the client is experiencing, increase self-awareness, and learn coping skills to help each person be successful in their day-to-day life.
Additionally, Dr. Lubing conducts psychological assessments for children, adolescents, and adults. These assessments aim to provide a better understanding and holistic view of the person based on the referral question. Evaluations measure cognitive, academic, and social-emotional abilities. Dr. Lubing has also worked with teachers and schools to create specific goals and recommendations for students as well as Individualized Education Plans (IEPs).
