    Murphy Danahy, Psychology Associate

    Biography

I am currently a Registered Psychology Associate (Maryland) working alongside several Licensed Clinical Psychologists at Quince Orchard.

My areas of specialization include panic disorder, social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, and anxiety disorders overlapping with physical illness. I also conduct a variety of achievement and neuropsychological batteries to support diagnostic, strengths-focused, and academic testing. I hold firmly to the belief that each person, their values, and their experiences deserve care and respect, and I work to reflect that in my practice. I enjoy exploring the stories, thoughts, patterns, and ideas that shape our lives, together with my clients. It is my honor to be able to be present with my clients during any and every stage of their journey, and to work alongside them to nurture and grow their truest and most meaningful self.

Before coming to QOP, I worked with community patients, active-duty military, and Veterans at various sites in Maryland & Virginia. I hold a M.S. in Clinical Psychology from the Uniformed Services University and am a current doctoral candidate. Before pursuing psychology, I served as an active-duty intelligence officer in the United States Army, including a deployment to Afghanistan. I am trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral and Behavioral therapies, and psychodynamic therapy. I am always excited to adjust and blend my approach to suit each new client.
