    Keisha Watson, LCPC, NCC

    Biography

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor, Nationally Certified and Board Approved Supervisor for the state of Maryland. I received both Bachelor’s degree in Psychology and Master’s degree in Human Resources Agency Counseling from North Carolina A&T State University. During my counseling internship I co-facilitated group therapy for court ordered sex offenders and facilitated psycho-educational groups for family members. Upon completing my Master’s degree I relocated to Maryland providing psychiatric rehabilitation services and care coordination to at risk children and adolescents in Montgomery County.

I have over 8 years of clinical program management experience in outpatient mental health working with children, adolescents and adults with severe and persistent mental illness. I am integrative in my orientation and offer CBT approach to individuals with anxiety, depression, grief/loss, couples and blended family issues. I strive to create a safe therapeutic and collaborative environment for individuals to share their journey with me. My clinical work draws from the belief that, by meeting you where you are, helps to create an alliance that empowers you to stop the cycle of unhealthy behaviors, face challenges and make a commitment towards long term change. With the use of tailored coping methods, we can work together to overcome those adversities, understand limitations and highlight your inner strength. The work that we do together will offer a new-found hope to make the choice to enact positive change and move forward.
