Our client waitlist is very long and we are seeking a professional to help streamline and improve the new client customer journey, serving as the central go-between from when clients call our receptionist and secure an ideal match with one of our 40 clinicians.

    The Intake Clinician is responsible for providing diagnostic assessments, counseling and support services for a mixed caseload including children, adolescents, adults, and families experiencing mental health challenges. This is an opportunity to work as part of a dynamic multi-disciplinary team, providing services to a broad spectrum of clients. This position is a new one for the practice but will quickly become pivotal with room for leadership advancement if desired. The Intake Clinician is the primary touchpoint for all clients seeking services that determines a) if our practice is appropriate to meet their needs, b) which types of services are likely needed (therapy, medication, testing, group, etc), c) which of our clinicians would be the best fit for ongoing care, and ) ensures that the patient has filled out all of their paperwork and understands the clinical, logistical, and financial processes involved in starting treatment.

    Responsibilities include intake screenings; conduct psycho-social assessments; assist patients with orientation to the practice; provide patient and family psycho-education; assess patients for suicidal risk and provide appropriate interventions; provide short-term counseling; assist with treatment planning; coordinate with billing to obtain insurance authorizations; assist with discharge planning and referrals to other treatment placements when necessary. As such, this role requires a strong degree of organization, good time management and patient follow-up capabilities, sharp diagnostic skills, and excellent communication skills within the team and in networking with community partners. Experience working in a fast-paced setting with a diverse clientele is paramount.

    Requirements

    Requires: LCSW-C or higher licensure with clinical specialty in mental health and supervision credential in Maryland preferred. Interaction with electronic medical records and proficiency in other computer skills, including telehealth technology, are vital. Will see roughly20 intakes per week spread between our Rockville and Frederick offices and virtually as clients prefer. Must be fully COVID vaccinated please.
