Dr. Shouh-Rong Vivian Tsai is a clinical psychologist with 15 years of working with children, families, and adults from a wide variety of racial, economic and cultural backgrounds including intercity and rural populations, affluent individuals, and families, as well as with immigrant populations. Although Dr. Tsai is trained as a generalist, she has a specific interest and significant experience treating children and their families. She practices individual therapy, family therapy, play therapy, utilizes phone consultations, as well as assessment and testing using a wide range of empirically validated instruments to support the individual who she works with which leads to improvements in one’s functioning. She has significant experiences with mood disorders including Major Depressive Disorder, Anxiety Disorders, Posttraumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Child and Adolescent developmental issues, Adjustment Disorders, Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Behavioral problems, and Pervasive Developmental Disorder such as Autism Disorder and Asperger’s Disorder. As a clinician, Dr. Tsai utilizes strategies to bolster client’s strengths to reach client’s desire goals. She is an active listener to best assist in the client’s personal growth and healing process.
Dr. Shouh-Rong Vivian Tsai received her undergraduate degree in psychology from George Washington University in 1999. She received her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling from The American School of Professional Psychology, Washington, D.C. in 2001. Additionally, she earned her Doctorate in Clinical Psychology in 2009 from The American School of Professional Psychology. Dr. Tsai is fluent in Mandarin and Taiwanese in addition to English.
